the two institutions destroying Africa are both imported: Christianity and Islam. How many times have we seen the fetish priest fighting the Christian or the Muslim. Yet we have allowed religion to rule every tot of our thought
ReplyDelete*Absolutely appalling*
ReplyDeleteI disagree with Nana F that Christianity and Islam are destroying Africa.
ReplyDelete1. It is religious bigotry that is destroying Africa.
2. It is a weak culture (though we swear its the opposite) that is destroying Africa, because our culture is swept aside by any invading culture.
3. There is an internal self-destruct button on groups of Africans.
4. My heart goes out go Lubna. I WILL WEAR A DRESS ALL THROUGH THIS SUNDAY IN SUPPORT OF FREE EXPRESSION AND ALSO IN SUPPORT OF LUBNA.
@Nana F, I think we are our own greatest enemies.
ReplyDelete@ Abena, Indeed my sister, indeed.
ReplyDelete@ NYA, point 2 and 3 are very true. We are doomed if we do not stop self destructive tendencies.
ReplyDeletehahahaha NYA. I still stand by what i am saying. All through world history Christianity and Islam has destroyed us. If it were not there we wouldn't have had those religious fanatics. The Crusaders was implemented by various popes. People deemed to be representatives of God. A lot of harm was caused by them. The Malleus Maleficarum (The Witch's Hammer) was written by somebody who thinks himself a christian and was instituted killing more than five million women. The Islamic Jihad and all others. I don't see any bigotry in religion...religion is its own bigotry. "if a man discovers on his wedding night that his bride is not a virgin, he must stone her to death on her father’s doorstep" (Deut 22:13-21). Must you blame someone who follows this to the letter? Do one need any arcane mind to decipher this? Definitely no! The bible is what Christians read. No one can tell me that they are Christians but they believe in certain parts of the bible and not others or that other parts are more 'good' than others. Same as Islam. If the quoran tells you to kill all infidels and go ahead to define who an infidel is...if it prescribes rules and the punishments for disobeying them...why should you blame someone who follows such things.
ReplyDeleteReligion is its own bigotry. Man by nature knows what is good and what's bad but we have allowed Religions to prescribe how we should think. A man can easily do whatever a religious book asks him to do even though he might not be feeling happy within himself and quote some book as justification. Christianity and Islam are not only destroying Africa, they are destroying the world.
@KFC..What has Christianity got to do with this?
ReplyDeleteThis issue is pure savagery and and a classic manifestation of a brutish cultural practice.
@Posekyere...this is a religious belief. According to them women are not to wear men's clothes and if you care to know it is also in the bible. You see! this is what i am talking about. It is savagery because it pricks your conscience not because the some holy writ says don't do it. If one's holy writ tells him how to punish women who wear men's clothes what do you blame? the person following the holy writ or the holy writ? Let's face it. I know I wouldn't have supporters here but I don't say things because I want supporters. Nope! I say them because I feel passionate about them. People commit suicide bombing because it is said they if they die doing the will of god they would go to heaven especially if they are killing infidels...whom would you fault if someone follows this? hahahaha such is life. You can't love one aspect and leave the other...
ReplyDeleteAloha...
ReplyDeleteChristianity moved on to the New Testament (Covenant). Old Testament commands, ie, stoning, are no longer valid. Islam has not progressed since its inception, retaining its same practices for hundreds of centuries.
